Tuesday:

San Antonio @ Miami: The current #7 seeds go at it in a big game for both because each team needs momentum going forward, particularly when it comes to seeding. The stars (Dwyane Wade and Tim Duncan) will loom large in this one, especially since each has a less talented man guarding them on the other team. George Hill and Mario Chalmers should be fun as well.

Wednesday

Oklahoma City @ Charlotte: Both teams take 5+ game winning streaks into the start of the week and Charlotte is a very good home team, with one of the biggest home/road differentials in the league. The story here is that the Bobcats have one of the best swingman combinations in terms of defending Kevin Durant in Gerald Wallace and Stephen Jackson. The other key matchup is Raymond Felton vs. Russell Westbrook, and how big that discrepancy ends up being should determine the margin here.

Friday

Charlotte @ Atlanta: Atlanta wants to move into stronger position as the 3-seed while Charlotte battles through a hard week with the goal of both improving their seed and staying strong in the playoff chase. Much as discussed in the context of Kevin Durant above, Charlotte’s swingmen can grapple with Joe Johnson while Al Horford will loom large as well.

Cleveland @ Chicago: While Chicago is an outside summer possibility for LeBron James, it’s always fun to see LBJ in The House that Michael Built. This is more of a background game than a feature one, but Derrick Rose and LBJ make any game worth seeing.

Utah @ Phoenix: Deron Williams against top-notch PG’s on the road continues against the Suns and Steve Nash. This game features two bigs likely to change zip codes this summer in Carlos Boozer and Amare Stoudemire, and each team needs a significant contribution from their PF to win this one.

Milwaukee @ Sacramento: Two of the more fun young teams in the NBA go at it in a game that should be going on after the second day of the Tournament concludes. Tyreke Evans has come a long way since his stint in Memphis last year, but Brandon Jennings has come even further since not qualifying for colleges stateside. The Kings need to be able to handle Andrew Bogut to have a chance to get this statement win.

Saturday

Charlotte @ Miami: As Chicago wanders in the wilderness without Joakim Noah, both of these teams need to keep their heads above water and push the advantage. Another game, another challenge for Charlotte’s dynamic swingman duo, this time in the form of D-Wade.

Golden State @ Memphis: Considering the rumored offer of Monta Ellis for OJ Mayo and Hasheem Thabeet, this one should be interesting. Considering the Warriors’ battered front line, Memphis should use Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol to great effect.

Boston @ Dallas: A good measuring stick game for both teams even though Dallas is clearly playing better at the moment than the Celtics. I can’t remember ever watching Kevin Garnett and Dirk Nowitzki go at it since KG got traded. If Boston wants to win, they’ll have to use Kendrick Perkins to take an advantage on Dallas’ hurt Center group while Paul Pierce scores enough to keep them in the game.

Sunday

Indiana @ Milwaukee: Big-time contrasting styles here from the coaches on down. Danny Granger is a major talent, but the Pacers’ PG’s will need to handle Brandon Jennings while their C’s need to try and keep Andrew Bogut in check. Great one to keep an eye on.

Utah @ Oklahoma City [Game of the Week]: Pretty amazing that a matchup of these two teams is Game of the Week for the second consecutive week (and they had a pretty good one Sunday as well). Williams and Westbrook are the headliners again, and I’m fascinated by the Andrei Kirilenko vs. Durant pairing as well. That said, Jeff Green might be the decider here, especially on the defensive end.
